Background / General description

The World Bank Office Manila (WBOM) has a vacancy for a Program Assistant to provide efficient & high quality accounting and administrative support to the Finance and Administration Team. This position will be for a three-year term basis, subject to one-year probationary period, with possibility of extension. The selected candidate will report to the Resource Management Officer.

Duties and Accountabilities

Include, but are not limited to:
• Procurement transaction processing and monitoring using Systems Applications and Products (SAP) such as creating purchase orders for goods and services;
• Processing consultant appointments, fees, travel requests and travel expenses;
• Petty cash management and bills processing;
• Processing and monitoring receivables and collections;
• Asset management - implementation of asset assignment and disposal, physical inventory of fixed assets and office supplies;
• Specialized support on a wide range of accounting, administrative, and secretarial services such as contracts management, charge-backs/issuance of statements of accounts, data collection and monitoring, package documents for audit submission, maintain and organize accounting files, assist team members during work overflow/overload.

Selection Criteria

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. CPA holder would be an advantage.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize assignments and work effectively under pressure with minimum supervision.
• High degree of initiative, flexibility and resourcefulness with a drive for efficiency and results.
• Strong communication skills with ability to research and synthesize information.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to liaise effectively and professionally with a wide range of clients (internal and external).
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint). Ability to use integrated enterprise-wide business transaction and information system (SAP) is preferred.
• Minimum five years of relevant work experience.
