Background / General description
The World Bank Dhaka Office is seeking applications from qualified and energetic candidates for the position of Receptionist.
The Receptionist reports to the Operations Adviser and is primarily responsible for the operations of the Dhaka Office reception.

Duties and Accountabilities
1. Responsible for operation of the PABX system, which includes transferring calls and receiving
messages.
2. Responsible for reception duties which includes:
• Receiving visitors and issuing proper Visitor ID at reception desk.
• Notifying staff to come to reception to meet their visitors/guests
• Receiving mail / messages, logging all mail received into Encorr Correspondence control system and arranging for its proper distribution.
• Assist Transportation Coordinator in providing instructions to drivers/couriers
• Update transportation requests in the WBOD Kiosk Transportation Module
• Liaise with Security Operations Center on notifying staff of any urgent security matters
3. Responsible for maintaining up to date list of staff telephone numbers and circulating a revised version monthly.
4. Responsible for back up of mail distribution (including Pouch) in the absence of the Supervisor.
5. Responsible for distribution of outside vendors checks based on the list provided by the Accounts.
6. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
Selection Criteria
Knowledge and Competencies:
• Strong client and service orientation; ability to interact cordially and tactfully with all visitors and staff at all levels.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented multi-cultural environment essential. Willingness to extend self to actively contribute to team's objectives. Positive attitude, high degree of initiative and reliability required.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in an efficient and conscientious manner.
• Thorough understanding of the Bank's administrative policies and procedures( or willing to learn)
• Willingness to work overtime as well as being flexible with working hours, as the need arises.
Qualification & Experience:
• Higher Secondary Certificate/ 'A' Level required; or comparable experience.
• 2 years experience in similar position preferable.
• Basic knowledge of at least one computer application, such as keyboarding/word processing, electronic mail, etc.
• Ability to pass relevant Bank tests, as required.
• Proficient English language skill (spoken and written).

• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint). Ability to use integrated enterprise-wide business transaction and information system (SAP) is preferred.
